So you want to avoid starvation?

This guide will go over the basics of cooking and how you can benefit from butchering worms and making pastries that closely resemble monsters that would lead one to madness.

PART 1: Tools of the trade

Within your kitchen will be a wide variety of tools needed for all the recipes a future and short-lived master clerk cook will need.

The Griddle

This is the most used cooking tool within the kitchen, simply place whichever meat you wish to cook upon it and wait patiently, once done take the meat out of the griddle before it burns. While the griddle is widely used to it's reliability and simplicity it is only one tool of the many a cook can use

The Microwave

The microwave is another tool of the trade, while it is used for less recipes than the griddle and requires cleaning with soap when dirty it is a essential part of your cooking toolbelt required to make quick snacks such as popcorn, boiled eggs or mere sandwiches.

Crafting

The greatest tool of a cook is their own hands, crafting is used in many recipes whether they be multi-step or the simple act of taking a fish and cutting it to make a quick Sashimi. All of the LC13 abnormality food recipes use crafting and they are all included within this guide, to craft one simply directs their eyes to the bottom right corner of their screen and clicks the hammer icon from there simply click craft when all ingredients are within your proximity.

PART 2: Abnormality Meals

Now you may have noticed that some food may closely resemble your favorite birds, because they do. To make these foods we use the crafting system. A table will be displayed below detailing how to make these recipes and detailing their contents.

PART 3: Hunger

As you walk and move about on station, your starting nutrition bar will start to drain from starting green, down to dark red. The effects of obesity and hunger are inversely bad of each other, and it is best to keep yourself reasonably fed with food or drinks, else you will suffer one of the two extremes.

There are six hunger levels, they are Starving, Hungry, Fed, Well Fed, Full and Fat. The only bad levels are Starving, Hungry and Fat. Currently, you won't see your nutrition bar unless you are hungry or fat.

Note that nutrition is typically slow-release, so if you don't fill up immediately, you will in the near future. Listen to your stomach messages when eating, don't eat if your body is unwilling.

Starvation

If you drop to dark red, you move very slowly and your description reveals your lack of eating habits. You are starving, this is not good! You won't die, but you will move slowly until you eat some food, so head to the kitchen for a biscuit or slice of cake!

Obesity

A troubling problem for all L-Corp feathers who enjoy food too much, without working off the calories they consumed. You grow pudgy and move slowly, though not as slow as a starving person. You will only become fat once your food has had time to digest, this becomes a problem if you are say, on the opposite side of the facility during a meltdown. By getting enough exercise, you can work off those pounds, but lipoplasty surgery or using the fat removal machine within safety is faster. Note that you can also become fat from drinking too much.

When one is fat, eating the mint or ingesting mint toxin (from grinding the mint) will gib them.

Satiety

Eating healthy food and being well fed can make your organism temporarily stronger against toxic reagents that get into your body. Being hungry will make you metabolize both medicine and toxic reagents slower, for a higher total effect. On the other hand, eating junk food will satiate your hunger for a while but it will make you want food again faster, and eating too much of them can make you a bit jittery.
